Fed Poly Ede sets to ring up curtain on new courses

The authorities of the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Osun State has announced plan to commence new courses.

This was disclosed shorting after the school completed the re-accreditation exercise of all courses and institutional administration.
Rector of the institution, Dr John Taiwo Adekolawole disclosed that courses such as Mass Communication, Urban and Regional Planning and some other courses will be introduce very soon into the school curriculum.

The Rector while assuring the staff, students and the polytechnic community of peaceful atmosphere and academic stability, said the feat achieved by the Polytechnic this month is a struggle of over twelve years, adding that myriad of developments are underway.

Adekolawole said, “it’s a great achievement for us as an institution. Getting all courses was last achieved like 12 years ago. Over the last few years, we have made a lot of improvement. This is a result of our commitment to excellence.

The team of National Board of Technical Education (NBTE) were also diligent, they went through all our programmes, inspected facilities and we thank God it was a successful one. Now we can focus on restructuring that’s ongoing and also work on introducing new courses.

“Very soon, we are bringing Mass Communication in a reformed manner. We will ensure we introduce it in a professional way. Another course we’re bringing is Urban and Regional Planning. We’re on the right track”.

“I want to assure the general public that the peaceful atmosphere and academic stability we’re enjoying will be a lasting one. With peace, there will be more innovations and development.” he added.

Reacting to the development, particularly the introduction of mass communication, the Students PRESS, FPE PRESS’ President described it as a welcome development

The PRESS in a terse statement signed by its President, Akinrinade Sodiq, Publicity Secretary, Lawal Sodiq and obtained by Froshmedia on Wednesday said the introduction of Mass communication will further complement the efforts of the Students Press on the campus adding that it will help the student develop abilities of critical thinking, problem-solving, conflict resolution, team building, public speaking and be useful for the society.
